We are a family farm that specializes in growing a wide variety of fine organic produce. Our “home-style” gardens stretch out along the bottoms, full with exotic salad greens and gourmet vegetables.

The quality of our produce comes from the use of biodynamic preparations on both our gardens and compost, mineralization, and growing open-pollinated heirloom cultivars selected for great taste. Some of our tomato and bean varieties come from seed saved from our first gardens.

We are located midway between Peterborough and Ottawa in Frontenac County. We grow about 3.5 acres of vegetables and herbs, raise heritage breeds of chickens, ducks, and turkeys, and have horses.

Elm Tree Farm is Demeter Certified and a CRAFT host farm. Tom is a current board member of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario. We also belong to the Ontario Society for Biodynamic Farming and Gardening, Canadian Organic Growers, Savour Ottawa, and the National Farmers Union.
